Thanks for sending your comments about my teaching.&nbsp; The followings are the summary and important information for your questions.

1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mic problem: Mic volume fluctuates.

Ans: I don’t really know.&nbsp; I have feedback this problem to CED but no positive solution is given. I have changed the mic volume to 100% and put up the mic as high as possible using my tie (now you know why I always wear tie), but still no use. Hence I really give up on this.

&nbsp;

2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Go through more pass year exam paper.

Ans: Ok, please come for lecture as more relevant examples will be given.&nbsp; Check out details during lecture.

&nbsp;

3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Need more information on lab code and lab assignment during lecture.

Ans: We are running out of time during lecture and hence no time for lab discussion.&nbsp; If you work smartly, you can refer to your senior for this. As for the lab assignment, we have not covered memory management yet, that’s why you have difficulty. If you want to do lab assignment earlier, you can start to read Section 10.4.5.2 (page 341) of text book. One good news for you is that the lab material will not be examined in the final examination.&nbsp; To add on, any lecture slides not covered in the lecture will not be examined too.

4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Give more examination tips.

Ans: This kind of request is hard to be satisfied. I can’t say yes. If I say yes, I will be in trouble and highly possible to be penalized by the management. What I can offer is that there will be intensive and extensive one week review class at the end of semester. Watch out for this announcement.

5. Can you use powerpoint for lecture?

Ans:&nbsp; I will be handicaped by powerpoint as I can’t write using powerpoint.&nbsp; During lecture, as I think of something new and something that I want to illustrate, I will write to give you more examples and explanations.&nbsp; With powerpoint, I am not able to do this. I also need two projections to explain things side by side. With powerpoint, there is only one projection and hence I said I am handicapped by that evil.

6. Lecture note is too brief.

Ans: As I said in the first lecture, lecture note is not enough for your learning purpose. You need to get textbook and read it. Otherwise, you will be lost for this course. I also would like to bring your attention again that in the first slide of lecture note, last line read “Lecture note is a set of note not a text book.”

7. Do not assume students know everything. Silence group may mean we are lost and have switched off. Need a break when we switch off.

Ans:&nbsp; Good point.&nbsp; The problem is that how do I know you all have switched off as I am not able to read your mind and read from your face.&nbsp; Hence please help me by not remaining silent. What you need to do is just raise you hand and tell me that you want to a short break. Anyway, a short break of 5 minutes will do no harm to the lecture.

8. No pop quiz.

Ans:&nbsp; Ok point noted.

&nbsp;

9. Do not start lecture at 8:30am.

Ans: I think you are referring to lecture at 8:30am on Friday. Ok, good point noted. I will delay for 5 minutes for lecture 8:30am on Friday.

10. Record lecture video and put into Edventure.

Ans: OK. I have put those that I have received into Edventure. However, I do not receive all lecture videos as I think CED did not record every of my lecture, especially the one in early moring, i.e. 8:30am on Friday.

11. Write clearly.

Ans: OK point noted. Please help me identify of this problem by raising your hand (if you can) so as I know my handwritings start to become unreadable.

in other news, i was supposed to have lessons from 8.30 to 4.30 today.&nbsp; slept at 4 am the night before… for the nth day in a row.&nbsp; woke at 7.55 feeling pissed and tired and just KNOWING my day was going to be a wreck.
