YouTube’s new player UI sucks

Yeek! YouTube has updated their embedded swf player interface, and I think it sucks. The UI you get while watching the videos on the main site itself is slightly better but still a shadow of its previous designs. I love YouTube and all, but what’s with the HUGE, angular buttons and ugly, ugly bevelling?? Also, I would like my volume control back, please! I find it hard to believe that any amount of user feedback (if any at all) would recommend the removal of a volume control slider in favour of a large, ugly-ass bi-state mute button. So I either listen to the audio as provided or not at all? Stupid!

Is this yet Another Sign that the Internet is being “idiotized” to cater to the dumb masses..?

Another 9/11 tragedy.

UPDATE: Seems I am not alone on this.
