Flood at Kota Tinggi
My dad and I were on our way up to Kota Tinggi when we discovered upon reaching that torrential rains had more or less flooded the whole place over the course of one night…

Just me and my PSP headed towards Kota Tinggi. We had no idea what was waiting.

Roadside flooding.. the first sign that something was wrong. This was our turn to make the dash. Behind us - a line of cars waiting their chance.

As we pulled up to the flood zone, this sight greeted us. Like us, The woman in front got out of her car to check it out. This is what we saw:

A whole lot of pissed off people.

There’s supposed to be a bridge visible in this picture. It used to span the width of Sungei Johor. The bridge is totally submerged. Those black specks in the distance are people wading waist-deep to get home. We met a guy who owns a shop in town. He said the water in his shop reached the ceiling… and insurance doesn’t cover Acts of God.

You know things are bad when the jetskis come out.

Some people make the best of things.

Traffic was backed up both ways.

A flooded palm plantation. Taken on the way home.
